Catching up!

Wow ok I need to get in the swing of doing this on a continual basis. Sorry ya'all I will get better at doing it. But lets recap the last few weeks of our lives.
August 6 2008

The blaze put on a free concert at the Gallivan Center, that featured The Spencer Neilson Band as Well as a favorite of mine

If you arent familiar with them they are an amazing local band. When Taylor was first born she would scream bloody murder during bath time unless I had them playing on the ipod! You may think it is silly but true. So my Mom, her boyfriend Scott, my brother Jeremy and his girlfriend Caitie all rode trax down there for the festivities. My cousin Tiva and her two daughters met us there along with a few friends of my moms and their two kids.

We had so much fun! Anytime seeing Royal Bliss is fun, but especially when it is free and the kids can join as well!

August 10 2008

My spontanious boyfriend (lol) had great idea to head up to the mountains and get out of the heat. Well we ended up at . It was so nice up there and so pretty. I hadnt been up there in years, but those mountains are Cody's second home during the winter months. It was so nice to just be up in the mountains and away from people. We did a little hiking, but not as much as we would have liked because Taylor and I had a birthday party to go to.

The birthday party was at the park and there were a ton of kids there for Taylor to play with. Grandma Debbie takes her pretty much any day that she has her. That maybe an exaggeration but not too far off ;) Taylor has been obssed with sports balls since she was tiny. Most little girls want to carry around a doll. Not our kid, if there is a basketball around she wants to bounce it and spike a football if you have one of those for her to play with. The Smith family may not be happy with this next comment, but they better get over it(he he). She loves to kick around a soccer ball occasionally she will even kick the basketball around. She does know how to throw a ball around too, not just toss but really throw. Just like her Daddy ;)

We actually had to leave early from the birthday party, because my Granny, Cody and I were heading to Wiseguys to see Marcus (from Last Comic Standing). Actually we went to see my Uncle Guy and Marcus but I found out after I had tickets that Guy was cut from the show and then earlier on Sunday was asked to do a last minute show after the one we already had tickets too :( It was fun anyways.

August 14 2008 MOTHERS DAY IN AUGUST

For Mother's Day this year my brothers and I bought my mom a gift certificate for all of us to go golfing together. She loves to golf but doesnt do it much anymore, so we thought we would go with her. There were 7 of us but only two with their own clubs so after scrambling to find enough sets for us to golf with and enough beer to fit in the bags :) we were on our way. Cody and my Mom are the only ones who really know what they were doing so im sure that the people around us were either super annoyed or extremely entertained

My brother's girlfriends in their flip-flops. That is my mom showing you were the green is and where her son's ball went. Cody my brother was struggling. It was so much fun I could really get into golf.

August 16 2008

Cody Smith's 26th birthday. We got up super early on a Saturday which isnt our style 7am to be exact and headed to east canyon. We went up emmigration canyon because of all the construction up Parley's. That is a much more scenic route, but I swear everyone who owns a bike was up that canyon just taking over the road. I know I know they deserve to be on the road as much as we do, but seriously is it really necessary to be in the center of the road so that we cannot pass you and then when we do pass you, do you need to flip us off? Dont think so!! Just stay on the shoulder and it wouldnt be so bad. There were signs up and down the whole canyon saying "please share road". No worries there were no mountain bikers that were ran over by the Murano that day. We arrived just in time for breakfast, Thanks Susan!! We tried to head out and play on the lake but it was so darn cold. Alisha had on sweat pants, hoodie and a wind breaker. She is our transplated Texan.

Finally it warmed up and we made it out on the lake for an hour or so. We had to leave early to get home and ready for a bbq celebration. It was a short trip but worth it. I love being away from the city! We had a big group of friends over that night and ate lots of food and lots of cocktails. Everyone had a good time, especially the birthday boy and the crickets. LOL
This is the end to the forever long post. I will work on posting more often.
Love your guts
